Kanye West to appear on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Yeezy will give a rare TV interview

Kanye West is to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Thursday, 9 August.

Kimmel announced the news via his Twitter account, referring to West as “Hurricane Kanye”.

No details have yet been released about the topics of conversation.

West has been embroiled in a number of controversies this year, including him endorsing Donald Trump in April with a picture of him wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ cap.

A month later, West sparked a furore after suggesting that African-American slavery was a “choice”.

It seems likely that Kimmel will touch on these topics with West, as well as discussing the rapper’s latest album ‘ye’.

‘ye’, released in June, hears West address the #MeToo movement, marriage, and his bi-polar disorder.

In NME’s review of the album, reviewer Douglas Greenwood wrote that West is “a pop culture pariah coming to terms with the actions that led to his exile” and that the album “is the most candid he’s been on record in a long time.”

Meanwhile, James Corden has revealed that West has pulled out of a planned Carpool Karaoke appearance on three separate occasions, costing the show $45,000.

West last appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2013 when he gave a impassioned speech about everything from the Hollywood Walk Of Fame to classism.

US viewers can watch the programme on Thursday 8 August at 11.35pm ET on ABC.
