Kasabian pass Glastonbury headline baton to Foo Fighters – watch

Kasabian headlined festival in 2014

2014 headliners Kasabian have reacted to the news that Foo Fighters will headline this year’s Glastonbury.

Last night Foo Fighters confirmed they are to headline the 2015 event in their acceptance speech at the NME Awards 2015 with Austin, Texas.

Foo Fighters were unable to attend the ceremony in person, but sent a video acceptance speech in which they thanked rock legend Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders for presenting them with the award before revealing their high-profile summer slot – the first of the three Glastonbury headliners to be made public.

Speaking to NME at the same ceremony, Kasabian said that while they’re not sure they can offer Dave Grohl any advice (“He was in fucking Nirvana!”) they are convinced the set will be a success. “They’ll be mega,” said Serge Pizzorno. “He [Dave Grohl] knows. The last thing they want to do is ask us!”
