Kasabian‘s Tom Meighan has told NME.COM that he ended up on Jersey Budd‘s new single thanks to a wild party.
The frontman contributes backing vocals to ‘She Came Back’, which was released on July 13.
However, the collaboration came about purely by chance.
“It was a pleasure to sing on Jersey‘s single ‘She Came Back’, as it’s a great tune by one of my mates,” explained the Kasabian man. “First heard it at a party at Serge‘s [Pizzorno, guitar] a year or so ago. Jersey had the guitar out and I started singing backing vocals over it.”
The pair were so happy with the version that they left the party and recorded the vocals straight away.
“He loved it and next thing I knew it was 8am and we were off to the studio to record it there and then, bang!” said Meighan. Not bad work for a four-pack of Fosters and 20 Marlboro Lights. Jersey has massive, massive potential to be Britain’s answer to Springsteen so check him out.”
