Kasabian storm XFM Winter Wonderland

The band give it up to help the homeless

Kasabian brought XFM’s Winter Wonderland series to a spectacular climax last night (December 9).

Rounding off three nights of stellar line-ups across the UK in aid of homeless charity Shelter, the band returned to former stomping ground Brixton Academy, ahead of their arena dates later this month.

Opening with ‘Shoot The Runner’, they stormed through a confident set, bullishly winning the crowd with hits ‘Club Foot’, ‘Empire’ and forthcoming single ‘Me Plus One’.

Determined to whip them up into a frenzy, singer Tom Meighan ironically apologised, “I’m not Johnny Borrell!”

Earlier on in the evening, Tenacious D made a surprise appearance, turning up to play ‘Kickapoo’ from new album and movie ‘The Pick Of Destiny’ alongside ‘Tribute’ and ‘Fuck Her Gently’.

And Clash legend Mick Jones turned up to accept his former band’s induction into the new XFM Hall Of Fame.

Captain, Just Jack and Boy Kill Boy warmed the audience up, while The Automatic, The Feeling and The Kooks played half hour sets which included all their current hits.

Kasabian played:

‘Shoot the Runner’

‘Sun / Rise / Light / Flies’

‘Me Plus One’

‘Last Trip’

‘The Doberman’

‘Club Foot’
