Kate Bush fans speak out over power failure and delayed gig

The Before The Dawn show was delayed by over an hour last night (September 26)

Kate Bush fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment following a power failure at last night’s Before The Dawn show at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo (September 26).

The power cut meant the start of the event was delayed by over an hour. After rowdy clapping from the crowd, at 9pm an announcement was made with a voice over the PA saying: “Ladies and gentlemen I have some good news. We have a new start time for the show of 9.05pm…. We want you to see the full performance but this means a finish time of 12 – 12.10am.” They then told the audience that they would refund all tickets for people who couldn’t stay for the full performance, but they would have to leave by 9.45pm. A number of fans shared their disappointment with this arrangement on Twitter.

@EventimApollo @KateBushMusic I’m so so disappointed. I have waited so long and now I’m going to miss most of it so I can bloody get home.

Another fan in the venue tweeted: “#katebush delayed til 9, won’t finish til 12.15 BUT only people who leave b4 9.45 get refunds. So we’ll see half the show but no refund…as have to leave at 10.30 for bsbysitter. Very poor.”

When Kate Bush arrived on stage she commented: “Thank you so much for being so patient. It was entirely beyond our control, but we hope that you enjoy the show” before the gig went ahead as usual, but far later than planned. Bush’s run of shows are set to continue until October 1.
