Katy Perry and Olly Murs score UK Number Ones

Perry tops albums chart while Murs has top-selling single

Katy Perry scored her first UK Number One album today (September 5) – while Olly Murs‘ debut single went straight in at Number One in the singles chart.

Perry‘s new effort ‘Teenage Dream’ debuted at the top spot, knocking Eminem‘s ‘Recovery’ from the albums summit. Former X Factor contestant Murs‘ single ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’ knocked Taio Cruz‘s ‘Dynamite’ off the singles peak.

Perry‘s new single, also named ‘Teenage Dream’, debuted at Number Two behind Murs.
