Katy Perry to perform at Super Bowl half-time show, reports claim

Singer says she won't pay to play the prestigious TV slot

Katy Perry will definitely be appearing at the half-time show of the 2015 Super Bowl, according to reports.

An article in Billboard says Perry has been chosen to appear at the half-time show at Arizona’s Phoenix Stadium on February 1, 2015.

Perry has long been rumoured to appear alongside Coldplay and Rihanna at the half-time show, which attracted a record TV audience of 111.5m viewers in the US alone for the 2014 show starring Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Since the 2014 event, American football organizing body NFL has reportedly been demanding that future artists will have to pay to appear at the show, though this has yet to be confirmed. Perry told ESPN’s College Game Day last Saturday (October 4): “I’m not the kind of girl who’d pay to play the Super Bowl”.

Perry finishes a US tour in Texas tomorrow (October 11). There are no further UK scheduled shows for her ‘Prism’ album, with Perry on tour until March 2015. There is a gap in Perry’s touring commitments from finishing a New Zealand tour on December 20 and resuming her concerts in Barcelona on February 16.
