Katy Perry’s preacher dad calls her a ‘devil child’

Keith Hudson has also asked people to 'pray' for his daughter

Katy Perry‘s father, who is an evangelical Christian pastor, has reportedly called his pop star daughter a “devil child”.

According to footage obtained by The Sun, Keith Hudson said in a recent sermon in Santa Fe Springs in California that he wanted people to pray for his daughter.

He allegedly said: “They ask how can I preach if I produce a girl who sang about kissing another girl?”

Hudson also said that the sight of his daughter’s fans reduced him to tears, because of how misguided they were. He commented:

I was at a concert of Katy’s where there were 20,000. I’m watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church. I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping. They’re loving and worshipping the wrong thing.

Katy Perry’s mother, Mary Hudson, is also a pastor. Last year, Perry told On The Red Carpet: “God is still inside of me and I still talk to him every day.”

She added however, that she hasn’t been able to get to church for a “few years”. She said: “I don’t go to one particular church. I’m open to the idea. It’s just I haven’t been able to in the past few years.”

Katy Perry released as gospel album under her birth name, Katy Hudson, in 2001.
