The 'Firework' singer seemed to be mentioned in Harris's tweets about his ex-girlfriend
Katy Perry appears to have responded to Calvin Harris’s recent tweets about Taylor Swift, in which she seems to be mentioned.
During a series of tweets yesterday (July 13) in which Harris confirmed that Swift is the co-writer of his hit Rihanna collaboration ‘This Is What You Came For’, Harris wrote, addressing his ex-girlfriend: “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”
“Katy” is widely presumed to be a reference to Perry as rumours of tension between the two singers have persisted ever since Swift released ‘Bad Blood’, a song which many pop fans believe was written about the ‘Roar’ singer.
Though Perry did not mention Calvin Harris’s comments directly on Twitter last night, many are speculating that she referenced them by sharing a gif of Hillary Clinton shrugging her shoulders.
Perry also re-tweeted a tweet she originally posted in May 2015 – the month ‘Bad Blood’ was released as a single, and its infamous video came out – which reads: “Time, the ultimate truth teller.”
At the time of writing, 9am on July 14, Taylor Swift has yet to tweet about Calvin Harris’s comments about her from yesterday.
