While Down Under they visit Australia’s most famous street…

Keane are such big fans of Aussie soap ‘NEIGHBOURS’ they have made a pilgrimage to the set of the show.

The band, who were recently nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for debut album ‘Hopes And Fears, visited the ‘Neighbours’ set in Melbourne during their recent tour Down Under.

Singer Tom Chaplain told Australian website Undercover: “The strange thing was that our illusions were slightly shattered because you go to have a look at this complex and you see the front of the pub and front of the coffee shop and then realise it is just a front with nothing behind it.”

Drummer Richard Hughesadded: “We went in and it looked a bit rundown but then I was watching it on video camera and it just looked like it does on TV except with me in it.”

Keane recently played two shows with Snow Patrol at Melbourne’s Hi-Fi Bar and Sydney’s Gaelic Club in Sydney.

The band kick off a 12-date sold-out tour of the UK on October 28 starting at Norwich UEA.
