Keane score fourth UK Number One album

Plus there are high entries for The National and Foals

Keane have knocked Diana Vickers off the top of the UK album chart after landing their fourth consecutive Number One album with ‘Night Train’.

The band’s eight-track EP fought off stiff competition from Plan B, who stays at Number Two with his second album ‘The Defamation Of Strickland Banks’ and Lady Gaga‘s ‘The Remix’ LP which shot straight in at three, just above her debut ‘The Fame’ which is at this week’s Number Four.

Elsewhere, The National have scored their highest ever UK chart position with fifth studio album ‘High Violet’, which went in at Number Five, while Foals charted at eight with their second album ‘Total Life Forever’.

Slash‘s self-titled debut has shot in at 17 and The Dead Weather‘s second LP ‘Sea Of Cowards’ has charted at 32.

In the UK singles chart, Roll Deep stays on top for the third consecutive week with ‘Good Times’.

The only other track to have spent as long at Number One this year was Owl City‘s ‘Fireflies’, according to the Official Charts Company.

While Keane enjoyed a successful rise to the top spot in the album charts, they struggled with new single ‘Stop For A Minute’ featuring K’naan, which only went in at 40.
