US chart star EAMON is Number One in the UK single chart (May 9) for another week, seeing off strong competition from a host of new entries.
Christina Milian scores the highest new entry at Two with ‘Dip It Low’. She is one ahead of Daniel Bedingfield’s sister Natasha, who enters at Three with her debut song ‘Single’. Keane prove they are a chart band with legs, entering at Four with ‘Everybody Changing’ – the same position as last single ‘Somewhere Only We Know’. Evergreen former boyband star Ronan Keating sees his duet with Leann Rimes – ‘Last Thing On My Mind’ enter at Five.
Ash miss a place on the Top Ten as comebaclk single ‘Orpheus’ charts at 13, one ahead of Gunther & the Sunshine Girls at 14 with ‘Ding Dong Song’.
The Lostprophets slide inside the Top 20 again as ‘Wake Up, Make A Move’ enters at 18, while Gabrielle returns at 20 with ‘Stay The Same’.
There are other new entries on the top 40 from former Blur man Graham Coxon at 22 with ‘Bittersweet Bundle of Misery’, and Melissa Auf Der Maur at 33 with ‘Real A Lie’.
There is a little jiggling on the album chart as Guns N’ Roses move from Two to One with their Greatest Hits, while Maroon Five move from Four to Two with ‘Songs About Jane’. The Who score the only entry on the Top Ten, moving in at Five with ‘Then And Now’, while resurgent and reformed Pixies take a bow with 16 with their ‘Wave Of Mutilation’ Best Of compilation.
