This year's bash aims to provide a "dedicated platform" for new music lovers...

V FESTIVAL organisers are planning a new bands stage at this year’s festival.

The stage will be the first time such a stage has existed at the event, which takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on August 21-22.

V Festival Director, Bob Angus, said: “As full-time concert promoters bringing on new talent has always been important to us, which is why over the years V Festival line-ups have always included a proportion of new acts.

“This year we have decided to take this one step further by giving talented but lesser known acts a dedicated platform to introduce their new sounds to music lovers.”
