The New York City apartment belonging to Kelis‘s mother is now available to rent on AirBnB.com.
The ‘Milkshake’ singer said during an appearance on US TV show The View on Friday (June 24) that her mother and stepfather are pleased with the revenue already coming in from their Manhattan pad.
She told viewers: “My mum called my sister and I not too long ago and said, ‘I wanted to wait to tell you… because I wanted to make sure it was a success… Your stepfather and I have decided to put the house up on AirBnB. Hilarious.”
“It’s absolutely fabulous, she did a wonderful job,” Kelis added. “But I know her and I know how she is and she said, ‘They (visitors) loved the snacks that I left’.”
Meanwhile, Kelis is also moving into the hospitality business by opening a pop-up burger restaurant in London next month.
KELISxLEBUN, the singer’s collaboration with burger restaurant Le Bun, will open at London’s Leicester House on July 6, 7, 13 and 14 before hitting Standon Calling festival in Hertfordshire at the end of the month.
As well as playing Love Supreme, Brownstock, Tramlines, Y Not, Kendall Calling and Standon Calling festivals this summer, Kelis plays four shows at the newly re-opened London Jazz Café on July 5-6, 16 and 18. Her most recent album was 2014’s ‘Food’.
