Nas has revealed his income in light of estranged wife Kelis‘s request for child support recently, saying he is not as wealthy as she says he is.
The pending divorce between the pair sees Kelis claim that Nas earned $11 million in 2006 after signing with Def Jam, but Nas says he made just $4 million that year.
In addition, he says he currently makes $147,165 a month, with monthly expenses totaling over $71,000 – with $10,000 spent on clothing and personal grooming.
Kelis has requested that her soon-to-be ex-husband pay all pregnancy expenses for the couple’s child, due this month, and half of medical expenses after the child is born. She is also requesting child support and spousal support.
She listed her expenses as $80,831 per month, but only made an average of $21,616 per month in the past year. She is seeking $20,000 a month.
Nas is offering $5,000 a month in child support, and says he wants to be fully involved with raising the baby.
Kelis filed for divorce in May after almost five years of marriage.
