Kelsey Lu and Yves Tumor collaborate on atmospheric new song

Moses Boyd and Kelly Moran also feature on 'let all the poisons that lurk in the mud seep out'

Kelsey Lu and Yves Tumor have shared a new collaboration – listen to ‘let all the poisons that lurk in the mud seep out’ below.

The all-star link-up also features Moses Boyd and Kelly Moran.

“‘let all the poisons that lurk in the mud seep out’ is about taking risks and diving headlessly into the unknown while being wholly yourself,” Lu said of the track.

“deconstructing the poisons that brought you doubt and mania as to the powers that lies within and accepting that whatever is evil will come to light while bending oneself backwards to embrace their true nature and the depth that lies within.”

She added: “The way this song has evolved is a mirror to how processing can be fragmented through time.

“From my delirious vocal takes I did alone in an Airbnb in between touring ‘Blood’, dragging the mic into the bathroom while I pee which happens to be an imperative textural element of the song itself, and to everyone else who is a part of this song being in different corners of the world who each of which I have a personal relationship with mostly through collaboration which is such an imperative part of my practice.”

The new collaboration is Lu’s first material since her May single ‘Morning Dew’. Yves Tumor, meanwhile, released their new album ‘Heaven To A Tortured Mind’ back at the start of April.

Kelsey Lu recently spoke to NME about plans for her next album, the follow-up to ‘Blood’. “I’m always looking for hope – I’m looking for a sense of hope and comfort. I find comfort in Slipknot sometimes, or Korn,” she says.

“I mean, it’s weird, we all find comfort in different ways. But I think really, essentially whatever my album’s going to be [is] to just keep searching for that sense of unity and comfort.”
