Kendrick Lamar backs Kanye West for President in new track ‘Black Friday’ – listen

Track is a remix of J. Cole's 'A Tale of 2 Citiez'

Kendrick Lamar has revealed new song ‘Black Friday’ in which he publicly backs Kanye West’s prospective bid to run for President.

Lamar revealed the new song overnight. It is remix of J. Cole’s ‘A Tale of 2 Citiez’ with Cole himself offering a version of Lamar’s ‘Alright’ which he has also called ‘Black Friday’. Both tracks can be heard below.

In Lamar’s song, he takes the chance to get behind the idea of Kanye West as President and raps: “I’m yelling Mr. Kanye West for president/ He probly let me get some head inside the residence/ I’m in the White House goin’ all out/ Bumping College Dropout, yellin’ God bless Americans.”

Though he has made assorted guest appearances on other’s material, ‘Black Friday’ is Kendrick Lamar’s first new material since the release of ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ earlier this year.

West first announced his intention to run in the 2020 US election while accepting an award at the MTV VMAs in August 2015.

West spoke about his radical ideas for electoral reform in a recent Vanity Fair interview.

“When I run for president, I’d prefer not to run against someone,” he said. “I would be like ‘I want to work with you.’I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs. But the idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together.”
