Lamar gave the impromptu performance on Tuesday (March 24) having announced the show earlier that day via Twitter. “9pm. meet me here. 8950 Sunset Blvd. 930pm. meet me here. 8466 Melrose Ave,” he posted.
The Compton MC played to the LA streets alongside a number of musicians as the truck moved in amongst the crowd. The show was organised in conjunction with Reebok’s #GetPumped campaign, and #GetPumped could be seen printed along the side of the vehicle.
The sportswear company has also revealed 100 selected guests were invited to try out the new Reebok ZPump Fusion shoe as fans chased the truck in what it has called “the wildest 5k ever”.
The video features a performance of ‘Alright’, which is taken from Lamar’s album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’. Having been surprise released on March 16 – seven days earlier than expected – the LP last week hit Number One on the Official UK Album Chart.
