Here’s the Kendrick Lamar and Dr Dre mash-up album you always wanted

At last, Kendrick rapping 'Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe' over 'Forgot About Dre'

A new mash-up mixtape sees Kendrick Lamar rapping over classic Dr Dre beats.

‘The DAMN. Chronic’ comes courtesy of DJ Critical Hype, the same person responsible for the Chance The Rapper/Kanye West mash-up in 2016.

A highlight from this new mixtape sees Lamar spitting ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’ over ‘Forgot About Dre’. Listen below.

Lamar and Dre have collaborated numerous times in the past, with Dre serving as executive producer for all of Kendrick’s studio albums since 2012’s ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D City’.

In 2015, Lamar discussed first meeting his mentor. “I had to really snap out of fan mode and become a professional,” Kendrick told Annie Mac.

He continued: “After we were introduced, he said he liked my music and I said that I’m a fan of his work. Then he said, ‘Okay, now write to this, write a full song to this’. Right after I said ‘Man, Dr. Dre, you’re the greatest’ and he was like, ‘Yeah man, you’re good too, you could be something… alright now write to this beat’.”

Last week saw Fox News pundit Geraldo Rivera say that Kendrick Lamar‘s social commentary “pales in comparison to the ghetto civil war that’s being waged” in America.

Rivera had previously claimed hip-hop had “done more damage to young African-Americans than racism”. He was later referenced on Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ track ‘YAH.’
