Songwriter Diane Warren was honoured at the benefit in Los Angeles
The singer was performing at the Humane Society Of The United States Gala in Los Angeles, where songwriter Diane Warren was honoured as Humanitarian Of The Year. Kesha was part of an ensemble of artists who played versions of some of Warren’s hits.
Ahead of her performance, Kesha told the crowd: “I want to dedicate this song to every man, woman, child and animal that has ever been abused.”
Joined by Warren on piano, she then played with a collage of animals crammed into poor conditions showing behind her. Watch footage of the performance below, via Billboard.
Gaga responded to Kesha’s performance with a tweet. It read: “Killed it @KeshaRose. I could feel your pain. Girl these boys won’t be in charge forever. The wisdom of women is rising. Let’s get louder.”
