Kid Rock pleads not guilty to battery charges

Rocker denies wrongdoing in waffle house scuffle

Kid Rock has pleaded not guilty to battery charges stemming from an altercation at an Atlanta waffle house last October.

The chart-topping rocker was not present at DeKalb County State Court to enter his plea. Instead his attorney, Darryl Cohen, entered the plea on his behalf and waived an arraignment hearing, reports the Associated Press.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, allegedly became involved in a fight at the Waffle House restaurant following his performance at the Atlanta Tabernacle on October 21.

He and five of his friends reportedly challenged a male customer who recognised a woman in Kid Rock‘s party and exchanged words with her.
