Kings Of Leon cancel further shows due to drummer’s broken ribs

Nathan Followill was injured on the band's tourbus earlier this month

Kings Of Leon have had to cancel further shows following drummer Nathan Followill’s bus accident earlier this month.

It was previously reported that the band had cancelled all their live shows until August 28, but now Followill has confirmed that two more shows will be pulled in order to give him time to recover. Followill was hurt when a pedestrian “jumped in front” of their tourbus during their North American tour. He sustained broken ribs during the resulting emergency stop. He took to Twitter earlier today (August 26) to tell fans that extra shows will be cancelled.

It is thought that the band will still be playing Made in America Festival in Philadelphia this weekend (August 30-31).

Meanwhile, the band have confirmed that they are working on new music. Caleb Followill told Billboard that Kings Of Leon always work on fresh ideas when they get time. “If you put us in a room together with our instruments it’s hard for us to dwell on the past and play something we’ve played a million times,” he said. “We would much rather create, so I think that what we have so far is really fun stuff. But, y’know, it depends on what time of year we make the album; if we make it in the winter time, we’ll probably have some sad songs on there, too.”
