Glee creator Ryan Murphy has lashed out at Kings Of Leon, calling them “assholes” for not letting him use their music on the show.
The Nashville band revealed to NME in August that they had turned down an offer from Glee to use one of their songs to refrain “from selling out”.
Kings Of Leon singer Caleb Followill responded to Murphy’s comments, saying: “This whole Glee thing is a shock to us. It’s gotten out of hand. At the time of the request, we hadn’t even seen the show. It came at the end of that record cycle, and we were over promoting [‘Use Somebody’]. This was never meant as a slap in the face to Glee.”
“Usually I find that people who make those comments, their careers are over,” he said of the guitarist. “They’re uneducated and quite stupid.”
