The US band have been forced to cancel all of their live dates until August 28 while Followill recovers from an injury sustained in a recent bus crash.

However, this did not stop them appearing on the chat show yesterday evening, with Questlove sitting in and playing ‘Family Tree’ with the rock band.

Kings of Leon pulled a New York concert on Sunday (August 10) after Followill was hurt when a pedestrian “jumped in front” of their tour bus. He sustained broken ribs during the resulting emergency stop.

Dr Faiz Bhora, chief of thoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, has ordered the drummer to rest for the next two weeks, meaning that a host of gigs will have to be cancelled. Dates affected include gigs in Ohio, Virginia, Indiana and New Hampshire.
