Kings Of Leon: ‘We almost didn’t make a fourth album’

Band say they weren't planning on recording until Glastonbury called

Kings Of Leon have revealed that they were not initially planning to release a new album in 2008, but changed their mind when they were offered a headline slot at the Glastonbury festival.

Frontman Caleb Folowill told NME.COM that his band had opriginally planned to take time off, but after the Glastonbury offer came in they decided to continue momentum after the show and make sure they had an album to release.

The band are set to release their fourth album, ‘Only By The Night’, in September.

“We were at the end of our tour and we were going to take a load of time off,” Folowill said. “But then we got the call and we were like, ‘Fuck! We should probably be putting out a record’.

“We don’t like seeing other bands go to the top,” he added. “We’re scared if we take too much time off we’ll forget how to do it.”
