Kings Of Leon say their mother wants them to be more like Taylor Swift

Band speak ahead of new album 'Walls'

Kings Of Leon member Jared Followill has described how his mother is “very opinionated” about their career decisions.

The band release new record ‘Walls’ on October 14, the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Mechanical Bull’.

Speaking to Q, bassist Jared described Betty Ann Murphy – mother of Jared, Caleb and Nathan – as “very opinionated when it comes to our career”.

“[She’ll say] ‘You guys need to do this, blah blah blah, I saw Taylor Swift go sign [autographs for fans] for four hours the other night and you guys never do that kind of thing. Why don’t you guys go out and sign for four hours? That’s why she’s the most famous woman in the world.'”

“She’ll always get onto us after a show: ‘I couldn’t hear Caleb’s voice last night at the concert. You need to tell your soundman, he’s gotta turn Caleb up!'”

In the same interview, the band described how they no longer hate their hit ‘Sex On Fire’.

The band recently debuted a new song called ‘Around The World’ on Jools Holland. They have also shared their lead single ‘Waste A Moment’.
