Band join Depeche Mode on the main stage line-up
Kings Of Leon have been confirmed as the second headliner for Optimus Alive in Portugal next year.
The band, who recently confirmed they are working on a new album with a view to a 2013 release, will headline the European event on July 14 next year. The announcement follows the news that Depeche Mode will also appear at Optimus Alive in 2013. The goth-rockers will headline the day before Kings of Leon on July 13.
Optimus Alive is held in Oeiras, Portugal and this year saw appearances from The Stone Roses, The Cure, Radiohead, Florence & The Machine and Justice. The festival runs from July 12-14 and tickets are available now priced at around £97 for a weekend pass with camping.
Speaking about Kings Of Leaon’s new LP, bassist Jared Followill recently revealed that a new album will be finished early next year. “We are in the writing process right now and it’s coming along pretty quickly,” he said. “We’ll definitely get into the studio but we you know we have no plans of finishing it this year but definitely early next year, so I think people should expect something from us sooner rather than later.”
