Kings Of Leon, Stormzy and Little Mix to play BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hull

The two-day event takes place in May in the UK's City of Culture 2017.

The first three acts have been confirmed for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hull this summer.

Kings Of Leon, Stormzy and Little Mix will all perform at the two-day event, which takes place on May 27 and 28 in the UK’s City of Culture 2017.

“Looking forward to seeing you in Hull for Radio 1’s Big Weekend at the end of the May,” Kings of Leon said as the news was announced on Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 show this morning (January 23). “Huge thanks to Radio 1 for leading the charge in helping us get our music to our fans, its going to be a great show, can’t wait.”

BBC Radio 1 will announce further acts and ticket details at a later date. In past years fans have been able to apply for tickets through a lottery system, with priority given to people who live locally.

Meanwhile, it has recently been announced that Kings Of Leon are to play a large European festival on the same weekend as Glastonbury. The Nashville band are also due to play a huge outdoor show in London’s Hyde Park this summer, with support from Pixies.

Last week the band performed their new song ‘Reverend’ on Jimmy Fallon’s US chat show.
