Rapper Kodak Black is facing a number of serious charges for drugs and firearm possession after he was arrested last night.
The 20-year-old was reportedly arrested at his home in Florida last night and faces charges of grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana, child neglect, two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon and two counts of probation violation.
He is reportedly being held at the Broward County jail, with a live video on his Instagram capturing audio of an argument about whether he is required to give his phone to authorities.
“Your phone’s part of the search warrant. You’re not going to get your phone back”, a man is heard to say in the clip.
The arrest is the latest in a long line of incidents that have marred the rapper’s career.
In 2015, he was arrested on charges of robbery, battery, two counts of false imprisonment of a child under 13 years of age, three counts of false imprisonment of an adult, driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
He was also arrested twice in Broward County in 2016. One arrest was for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and fleeing from law enforcement.
The second arrest was for armed robbery and false imprisonment.
In June 2017, he was also released from jail after serving less than a month of a 364 day sentence, which was given on May 4th for violating parole on a previous 2016 conviction.
