Metal band are working on their new album 'The Serenity Of Suffering'

Korn have revealed that Dave Grohl dropped into their recording studio during sessions for their forthcoming new album ‘The Serenity Of Suffering’.

Drummer Ray Luzier posted a picture of the band with the Foo Fighters man on his Instagram page. He also said: “That one time when Grohl stopped by our studio for #serenityofsuffering sessions. Huge thanks to #nickraskulinecz for making our new record so awesome!” You can view the pic below.

It is unclear whether Grohl was involved in any of the band’s sessions or the production of their 12th studio album.

It is due for release on October 21, with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor set to make a guest appearance on the track ‘A Different World’.

Taylor’s involvement on the record was revealed by Korn guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer, who says that he “really lets loose” on the song.

He also went on to describe the sound of the forthcoming record, and said it was one of their heaviest albums yet. Shaffer added: “On a heaviness scale of one to 10 with 10 being the 1994 self-titled, this album is a definite nine.”

The new album is the second record to feature guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch since his return to the band. Describing working with Welch once more, Shaffer said: “When Head came back to us on the last record, it was our way of getting the wheels greased. Now everything is well-oiled and the machine works really well.”

The band recently posted the video for new track ‘Insane’. The clip which you can view below, focuses on post-mortem photography (or momento mori), the practice of preserving loved ones after death with images. ‘Insane’ follows the release of ‘Rotting In Vain’, with both singles set to appear on the upcoming album.
