Korn bring Queen and bagpipes to Download

Jonathan Davis tells crowd to put their middle fingers up

Korn rocked Download festival this afternoon (June 12) with a set that included a brief cover of Queen‘s ‘We Will Rock You’.

Taking to the Main Stage at 7.15pm to a dramatic orchestral opening, the American four-piece opened with ‘Right Now’ from their 2003 album ‘Take A Look In The Mirror’ before going on to perform a greatest hits set.

Frontman Jonathan Davis was on typically riotous form, at one point telling the crowd to get their middle fingers in the air before leading them in chants of “fuck that” prior to playing the crowd-pleasing ‘Y’All Want A Single’, which features the words prominently.

Just before playing ‘Helmet In The Bush’, Davis began singing ‘We Will Rock You’ by Queen, inspiring a huge sing-along before returning to the stage with his trademark bagpipes.

Fan favourites included ‘Blind’ and ‘Freak On A Leash’. The biggest crowd reaction, however, was reserved for the closing cover of Pink Floyd‘s ‘Another Brick In The Wall’, released in 2004 as part of a Korn greatest hits collection, and which led to roars of “we don’t need no education” ringing out across Donington Park.
