Jonathan Davis and his unlikely collaborator work together on a "fine art DVD"...

KORN frontman JONATHAN DAVIS is to collaborate with horror-meister CLIVE BARKER on a “fine art DVD”, according to reports in the US.

Davis, who will work with composer Richard Gibbs, with whom he has been working on the soundtrack for the new Anne Rice vampire chronicles movie ‘Queen Of The Damned’, are writing music in home cinema surround sound to accompany 12 paintings by Barker on the DVD.

The DVD will include footage of horror artist, writer and director Barker – whose credits include ‘Hellraiser’ and ‘Candyman’ – at work on the paintings and Davis and Gibbs writing the music, with comments from all three throughout.

Davis said: “We’ve set out to create a new medium unlike any other, combining the elements of art, beauty, music and horror with state-of-the-art technology, a post-millennium coffee table book for your DVD player.”

Gibbs described Davis as “definitely the most musically twisted brain I have ever worked with”. And he added: “For us to collaborate with a multi-demented soul like the one and only Clive Barker – I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I hope the authorities have been alerted.”

The DVD is expected to be released later this year.
