Korn (pictured) will no longer be appearing at the Ozzfest ’98, at Milton Keynes Bowl on Saturday (June 20) because guitarist Brian Welch’s girlfriend is due to give birth.
Welch and girlfriend Rebekah thought their child would be born in July, but doctors moved the expected dates to mid June, according to US music website muzic.com. He wanted to be present at the birth. The rest of the band – fronted by singer Jonathan Davis – said they would not take to the stage unless all five members were present.
Korn last year cancelled some of their Lollapalooza gigs after guitarist James Schaffer was diagnosed with viral meningitis.
It has also been reported that the band’s new album, ‘Follow The Leader’, the follow up to 1996’s ‘Life Is Peachy’, will be released in September.
