Fans have been reacting to news that Kurt Cobain is to be “honoured” with a limited edition Converse shoe.
As previously reported on NME.COM the Nirvana frontman will have specially designed line of trainers named after him, sanctioned by Courtney Love.
However fans have being posting on NME.COM, with the vast majority against the move.
Reacting to the news, NME.COM user Scotcha said: “This idea is more about boosting the brand image of converse. This has nothing to do whatsoever with music. It goes against everything Nirvana, Joy Division and the Pistols stood for. It’s simply corporate, marketed bollocks.”
Babyshambles-pete said: “Complete Bollocks. Cobain is a musical legend and Converse are just cashing in on this which is wrong. Anyone who buys these is not a true fan.”
Meanwhile, BlocPartyLiam added: “This is digusting, exploitative and goes against everything these artists stood for. Kurt Cobain should be remembered as a talented musician, not a ‘brand’.”
However Gunandteacups was in favour of the footwear tribute, declaring: “I think it is such a good idea. Can’t wait to get a pair.”
