Kurt Vile recently joined Yo La Tengo onstage to help them cover The Cure, when the band performed in his hometown of Philadelphia.
They sung ‘Friday I’m In Love’ which Yo La Tengo originally recorded for their 2015 covers album ‘Stuff Like That There‘.
Vile also recently collaborated with Courtney Barnett on a joint album, ‘Lotta Sea Lice‘. Most of the tracks on the record are originals penned by the pair, but it also features some covers. These included versions of Belly’s ‘Untogether’ and Jen Cloher’s ‘Fear Is Like A Forest’.
Barnett also recorded a version of Vile’s own ‘Peeping Tomboy’.
Last month, Vile appeared as Carrie Brownstein’s roadie in US comedy sketch show ‘Portlandia’.
