Listen to Kurt Vile’s “jangly” new song ‘Timing Is Everything (And I’m Falling Behind)’

The single follows swiftly on from the October release of Vile's eighth album 'Bottle It In'

Kurt Vile has shared his first new material of 2019 in the form of the single ‘Timing Is Everything (And I’m Falling Behind)’ – listen to the Vile-described “jangly” song below.

Vile’s latest material follows swiftly on from the October release of his eighth studio album ‘Bottle It In’. That record featured guest contributions from the likes of Kim Gordon, Warpaint‘s Stella Mozgawa and Cass McCombs.

The single ‘Timing Is Everything (And I’m Falling Behind)’ has been released today (January 25), where it is currently streaming exclusively on Amazon Originals. You can listen to it below now.

In a press release, Vile described the track as being “a candid snapshot of KV & the Violators ‘at home,’ where we like it: sparse and jangly and as live as possible.” Recorded in Athens, Georgia by Violator Kyle Spence and mixed by Peter Katis, the track nearly made the cut on ‘Bottle It In’.

“This jam was one of many contenders for the last album, but we gonna start peeling em off for ya now instead,” Vile clarified.

Last month, Vile’s ‘One Trick Ponies’ was named among the tracks on Barack Obama’s annual list of his favourite songs of the past year.
