The Antipodean pop princess' Can't Get You Out Of My Head' looks like staying top of the pile - and Posh Spice is nowhere....

KYLIE MINOGUE is set to comfortably remain at Number One in the UK single charts for at least a second week this coming Sunday (September 29).

The Antipodean pop princess sold just shy of 40,000 copies yesterday (September 24), the first day of sales for the second week – just over half what she did on the first day the previous week. Of this week’s new entries, Steps, with their cover of Diana Ross’ ‘Chain Reaction’, are pushing Kylie closest, having moved 27,210 copies. DJ Ozit slips one to Number Three while City High, the UK garage outfit discovered by Wyclef Jean, is the second highest new entry at Four, having sold 13,821. Alien Ant Farm drop two at Five with their cover of Michael Jackson‘s ‘Smooth Criminal’.

Victoria Beckham’s disastrous beginning to her solo career continues. She is currently at Number 17 on her second week having shifted 3,527. Chart experts predict her slide will take her out of the 20 by Sunday (30 September).

Meanwhile, a quiet week on the album chart sees Eels currently sit at Number Six, the highest new entry, having sold 3,216 copies of ‘Souljacker (Part 1)’. Macy Gray remains at the top with second album ‘The Id’, while alt-country figurehead Ryan Adams is a sliver away from a Top 10 place, sitting at the moment at number 11 with ‘Gold’.
