Kylie gets help from unknown songwriter on new album

The star discovers new collaborator on MySpace

A relatively unknown Scottish songwriter has been asked to help out on Kylie Minogue’s new album.

Calvin Harris, 23, was brought to the singer’s attention after posting his music on the MySpace website.

The DJ has built up a cult following since posting material on the website.

A spokesman for Minogue told BBC News: “She has been working on some tracks with Calvin. Kylie heard stuff he’d done and liked it. Things are going well.”

Harris’ tunes caught the attention of a top producer, who handed his details on to the Australian star. He has since signed to Sony BMG and his debut single, ‘Acceptable In The 80s’, is due out in March.

Minogue’s new album, the follow-up to 2003’s ‘Body Language’, is due out later this year. The star recently completed a sold-out UK comeback tour after recovering from breast cancer.
