Dates on the Showgirl world tour are pulled...

KYLIE MINOGUE has pulled out of an Australian tour after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The singer was due to start dates later this week on the Showgirl greatest hits tour.

A statement issued to the Australian media reads: “Whilst at home in Melbourne with her family this week, prior to her Australian Showgirl Tour, Kylie was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She will undergo immediate treatment and consequently her Australian tour will not be able to proceed as planned.”

Kylie added: “I was so looking forward to bringing the Showgirl Tour to Australian audiences…nevertheless, hopefully all will work out fine and I’ll be back with you all again soon.”

Kylie has just completed the UK leg of the tour, and is due to headline next month’s Glastonbury Festival.

A spokesperson for the event said it is currently “unclear” if she’ll be well enough to play.

A statement reads: “Glastonbury Festival was saddened to hear the news that Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“The singer’s Australian tour has been cancelled, and it is still unclear whether she will be able to undertake her headlining slot at the Festival at the end of June.

“As soon as we have any more definite news we will pass it on. Meanwhile our thoughts are with Kylie at this very difficult time.”

The tour was due to visit:

Sydney Superdome (19-21)

Melbourne Rod Laver Arena (23-25, 27-29)

Sydney Entertainment Centre (31, June 1-2)

Brisbane Entertainment Centre (4-6)

Adelaide Entertainment Centre (8-9)

Perth Burswood Dome (12-14)
