The metal event will be headlined by Muse, Kiss and Slipknot
The newly reunited L7 lead a list of additions to the bill for Download Festival 2015.
The US grunge band will play the event at Donington Park this June, alongside other new additions Andrew WK, In Flames, Testament, Gnarwolves, All That Remains and Thunder. Ace Frehley of Kiss will also be playing a solo show ahead of his band’s headline set.
As previously reported, Muse, Kiss and Slipknot will headline the event with appearances from Lamb Of God, Rise Against and Black Veil Brides also confirmed, alongside Every Time I Die, Clutch and Billy Idol. In addition, Enter Shikari, Judas Priest, Faith No More and Marilyn Manson will appear at Download 2015 alongside Slash and Mötley Crüe.
Ice T’s metal band Body Count are also set to appear at Donington Park between June 12-14, as too will Eagles Of Death Metal, Parkway Drive, Hollywood Undead, Mallory Knox, Godsmack, Dragonforce and Backyard Babies.
L7 announced their reunion earlier this week. The band have also launched a KickStarter to fund a documentary called L7: Pretend We’re Dead, which is directed by Sarah Price. “The film takes viewers on an all access journey into the 1990’s grunge movement that took the world by storm and the band that helped define it as the genre of a generation,” reads a press release.
L7 formed in Los Angeles in 1985 and stopped playing live in 2001, announcing an ‘indefinite hiatus’. The group consisted of Donita Sparks, Suzi Gardner, Jennifer Finch and Demetra Plakas. They released their debut, self-titled album in 1988, following it with 1990’s ‘Smell The Magic’ and 1992’s grunge breakthrough, ‘Bricks Are Heavy’. Their final release was 1999’s ‘Slap-Happy’.
Download Festival 2014 took place at Donington Park between June 13-15 last year with headline performances from Avenged Sevenfold, Aerosmith and Linkin Park.
