La Roux to begin work on second album

Pop duo to begin writing new material over the Christmas period

La Roux have revealed they are set to begin work on their second album.

The ‘Bulletproof’ duo, who released their self-titled debut earlier this year, have said that they are going to start writing over the Christmas period.

“We’re going to stay in my manager’s house and use the quiet time to our advantage,” Elly Jackson told BBC 6 Music. “Ben [Langmaid] and I have got a fairly clear idea of what we want to do but we haven’t actually started doing it yet so we don’t know how it’s going to sound.”

She added: “I think there will be a natural instrument or two on there though, which will make a change from the first record.”

Although they are set to start work on new material, Jackson warned fans not to expect a finished record anytime soon.

“We’ve only got two weeks writing time between Christmas and the summer,” She explained. “So unless we manage to write a record in two weeks I don’t think there will be anything in terms of a second record for a while.” She added.
