Ohhh Jeremy Corbyn....
The Labour Party has announced details of a one-day festival in London this summer, featuring music from the likes of Rae Morris and speeches from leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Labour Live will take place at Tottenham’s White Hart Lane recreation ground on Saturday June 16, and is billed as “a brand new one-day festival of music, art and politics that brings together our incredible movement”.
So far, the festival has already announced appearances from Rae Morris, The Magic Numbers and The Voice winner Jermain Jackman.
There’s also set to be lively political debate throughout the day too, with speeches confirmed from leader Jeremy Corbyn, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell and local MP Kate Osamor, the Shadow Secretary of State for International Development.
The first batch of tickets are set to go on sale from tomorrow, and you can buy them here.
The launch of Labour’s very own festival follows Jeremy Corbyn’s appearance on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival last year, where he received a rapturous response as he introduced Run The Jewels.
“This place in Glastonbury is truly wonderful. I remember coming here as a child, being taken up to Glastonbury Tor by my mum and dad and I thought what a magical area this is because there’s something very special about it”, Corbyn told the Glastonbury crowd.
“It’s a place where people come together and they achieve things. We have a democracy because people lay down their lives so that we might get the right to vote.”
