Labrinth reveals plans for an Arctic Monkeys style rock album

"I want to do a rock album after this album," said the artist

Labrinth has revealed plans to make an Arctic Monkeys style rock album.

The artist – real name Timothy McKenzie – was speaking earlier this evening (December 11) at the inaugural BBC Music Awards in London. Labrinth released his debut album, ‘Electronic Earth’, in 2012. His second LP, ‘Take Me to the Truth’, is due for release in 2015. Two singles from the album, ‘Let It Be’, and ‘Jealous’, were released earlier this autumn.

“A lot of people after the first two records, ‘Let It Be and ‘Jealous’, were like ‘Lab, you’ve taken a turn!’,” he commented. “I just respect when artists try and develop and you hear something new when you listen to an artist. So for me this album is me evolving and trying to spread my wings. Because I want to do everything.”

He then went on to talk about his plans for his third album. “I want to do a rock album after this album. I want to produce [something] like Arctic Monkeys or Coldplay – I can go over there.”
