Lady Gaga to play an hour of new music at London’s iTunes Festival on September 1

Singer promises fans 'one hour of all new music' at the freebie concert at London's Roundhouse venue

Lady Gaga has confirmed rumours that she will be playing live in London next month.

The singer will headline the opening night of this year’s iTunes Festival, which takes place at London’s Roundhouse venue every night from September 1 to 30. Gaga used Twitter to announce details of the gig earlier this evening (August 13), promising fans a flurry of new material from her forthcoming ‘ARTPOP’ album.

Gaga officially premiered the album’s lead single ‘Applause’ yesterday after it leaked over the weekend. ‘ARTPOP’ is set for release on November 11.

Gaga has recently declared that it won’t be “acceptable” for people to listen to ‘ARTPOP’ on their computer speakers. Writing on Twitter, the singer hyped up the release of her new LP by posting: “oh, & just a suggestion… use HEADPHONES when listening to the new music, ARTPOP is ELECTRONIC CANDY & DELISH ON THE EARS.”

She then went on to state: “THE SPEAKERS ON YOUR COMPUTER are NOT ACCEPTABLE, unless you like hearing music underwater. I do not”, before adding in a separate message: “The album ARTPOP was produced by the amazing—-> @DJWS @ZEDD @MADEON + @LADYGAGA. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE US CRY AND LISTEN WITHOUT HEADPHONES.”

Meanwhile, other artists confirmed to play this year’s iTunes Festival include Arctic Monkeys, Pixies and Justin Timberlake. Tickets to all shows are free, but available to competition winners only. For details, visit
