The singer is set to perform a medley of Bowie hits at the Grammys next week
The star, who was already booked to appear at the ceremony prior to Bowie’s death, was approached by organisers with the idea of performing a medley of his hits soon after his passing.
And, it seems Gaga is taking the role very seriously, with the singer sharing a number of clips on SnapChat giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals.
Posting a short video of herself in a car, Gaga titled the clip ‘Bowie kid for life’ along with a microphone emoji as she says: “It’s rehearsal time.”
She then later shared a snippet showing her high-fiving her dancers, while another video saw her going through a rail of outfits, wearing just a black bodysuit.
Gaga, who is set to become the first artist to play the Grammys, Super Bowl and the Oscars in the same year, previously opened up about how much paying tribute to Bowie means to her.
Speaking to Extra, she said: “It’s hard to talk about. I would never be here without him — I would’ve thought I was too weird — and I never gave up because I thought he was the coolest ever.”
The Grammys is set to take place in Los Angeles on February 15. A tribute to Bowie is also expected at The Brit Awards, though details of what this will involve are yet to be revealed.
