Lady Gaga: ”Born This Way’ album is like heroin’

The singer also opens up about the price of fame

Lady Gaga has compared her forthcoming new album ‘Born This Way’ to heroin.

The singer, who is due to release the follow-up to her debut ‘The Fame’ on May 23, said the title track was just a light introduction to the record.

‘Born This Way’ is the marijuana to the heroin of the album,” Gaga told Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

“The [album’s] experience gets massively more intense as you explore it. All the different songs are different kinds of highs.”

The singer also revealed that the trappings of fame helped inspire her new album particularly on the track ‘Marry The Night’.

“I had all these Number One records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture?” she added.

“I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately. I ran furiously back to New York, to my old apartment, and I hung out with my friends, and I went to the same bars.”

Gaga releases her new single ‘Judas’ on April 19.
