Lady Gaga tops Spotify’s most listened-to track and album of 2010

Florence And The Machine and Mumford & Sons also clocked up lots of plays

Lady Gaga has come top of Spotify‘s most listened-to tracks and albums of 2010 lists.

The singer, who is currently preparing her third album ‘Born This Way’, topped the album chart with her 2009 album ‘The Fame Monster’. ‘Telephone’, her single with Beyonce, was the most-played track.

The list also shows the excellent year Mumford and Sons have enjoyed, with their album ‘Sigh No More’ charting higher than efforts by The xx, Rihanna and The Black Eyed Peas. Florence And The Machine also featured in both lists.

The music streaming site came under fire earlier in the year from The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) over royalty payments it gives to artists. BASCA cited Lady Gaga as its key example – the singer earned $167 (£106) for one million plays of her song ‘Poker Face’.
