The fifth season of the spooky US TV series is titled 'American Horror Story: Hotel'
Lady Gaga is to star in Season Five of American Horror Story, the spooky US TV series co-created by Glee‘s Ryan Murphy.
Each season of American Horror Story introduces a new setting and characters, and Gaga revealed in a teaser clip posted on Twitter earlier today (February 25) that Season Five will be titled American Horror Story: Hotel.
The teaser clip also reveals that American Horror Story: Hotel will begin on US cable network FX this October (2014). However, Gaga has yet to reveal the name of her character or any further details about the show’s upcoming season.
American Horror Story: Hotel will be Gaga’s first TV acting job following small supporting roles in the films Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. She also appeared as herself in last year’s Muppets Most Wanted.
Gaga’s co-stars in American Horror Story: Hotel have yet to be announced but many well-known actors have appeared in multiple previous seasons, including Oscar winners Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates, Star Trek‘s Zachary Quinto, Precious star Gabourey Sidibe and Golden Globe winners Frances Conroy and Angela Bassett.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga performed four songs from The Sound Of Music on Sunday night (February 22) to mark the 50th anniversary of the classic Hollywood musical. A US news anchor was later forced to apologise for using an archaic racist term when describing Gaga’s own music following her performance.
