Lady Gaga and Paul McCartney are working on new music, the ‘Artpop’ singer has revealed after posting an Instagram picture of the pair – along with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready – in the studio together.
“Had a beautiful session with Sir Paul McCartney and friends,” Gaga wrote alongside the photo, which also included a room full of instrumentalists. “Working on one of his many secret projects! Killer musicians, vibe, and lots of laughs.”
Gaga also posted a solo picture of her and McCartney and recalled how the pair ended up collaborating. “Always a good time with my buddy,” she wrote. “I’ll never forget when he called me last year to work and I hung up the phone cuz I thought it was a prank!”
Yesterday, Paul McCartney, Kanye West and Rihana debuted the new video for their collaborative track ‘Fourfiveseconds’. The three artists all starred in the video for the song, which will appear on both West and Rihanna’s forthcoming new albums.
Paul McCartney also contributed backing vocals to the previously released Kanye West track ‘Only One’. The two artists will be among the stars to appear on ‘Saturday Night Live’ to celebrate the US comedy sketch show’s 40th anniversary. Though it was recently reported that McCartney is not co-producing the entirety of Kanye West’s new album, despite reports claiming that he will work alongside the rapper on a whole record.
Meanwhile, it was revealed earlier this month that disco producer Giorgio Moroder will work with Lady Gaga on the singer’s new album. “I have about five or six tracks, just basic ideas. Drums, keyboard, bass,” Moroder said. “I’m going to be surprised, I think – I don’t have a clue about the way she’s recording. Will she play the piano? Will I?”
