Lady Gaga hoping to release ‘ARTPOP’ sequel ‘very soon’

Singer says she is "really hoping" to put new music out this year

Lady Gaga has said that she plans to release the sequel to her ‘ARTPOP’ album “very soon.”

Gaga first teased the possibility of a second ‘ARTPOP’ album back in 2012 when she discussed tentative plans to put out a “commercial” volume of the record first which would be swiftly followed by a more “experimental” sequel.

In 2013 she followed up on the plans by saying she was considering playing both albums on her forthcoming world tour, which arrives in the UK this October. ‘ARTPOP’ was released in November 2013.

Speaking to the American Top 40 radio station, Gaga said she has enough material to release a new album already: “I wrote a lot of songs when I was creating ‘ARTPOP’. When I was done working on them I had a very specific idea of the concept for the first release of ‘ARTPOP’.

She continued: “There’s a strong possibility I will release another volume of ‘ARTPOP’ and I’m really hoping that it’s soon.”

Lady Gaga recently added a third date at London’s O2 Arena to her UK and Ireland tour schedule. The first two nights sold out immediately. She will play a series of arena dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Dublin and Birmingham. Tickets for the majority of the dates went on sale in February. See below for ticket details.

Starting in Birmingham on October 15, the tour will then finish at London’s O2 Arena on October 26.

Lady Gaga will play:

Birmingham NIA (October 15)
Dublin O2 Arena (17)
Glasgow Hydro (19)
Manchester Phones 4U Arena (21)
London O2 Arena (23, 25, 26)
